A new site for the proposed onshore facilities was approved by the local authorities in early 2008. Escal’s procurement of the land for this new site was nearing completion in 2009, with 80 percent of the land transactions completed by mid-year, and the remaining 20 percent awaiting registration of title. Escal intends to retain the land from the initial onshore site for the time being. Land use agreements for the right of way to route the 30-inch buried pipeline from the shore to the new onshore facilities site are being negotiated with local landowners in 2009, and Escal expects these negotiations will be concluded in a timely manner.
